Creating a Scene. The exhibition strives to produce a collective portrait of the Miami art scene from the vantage point of the cultural producers rather than its consumers. Inviting four alternative spaces and over forty artists, it seeks to open a space of self-representation for those engaged with cultural production at the ground level.

The exhibition strives to produce a collective portrait of the Miami art scene from the vantage point of the cultural producers rather than its consumers. Inviting four alternative spaces and over forty artists, it seeks to open a space of self-representation for those engaged with cultural production at the ground level. Rather than present discreet objects, the exhibition will function as a space in which stories will be created that better explain the contexts against which art produced in Miami should be placed and understood.
Miami Contemporary Artists: Creating a Scene features the work of Kevin Arrow, BasFisher Invitational, Carlos Betancourt, Francie Bishop-Good, Box, Jenny Brillhart, Carlos Cardenas, Consuela Castenada, Robert Chambers, Westen Charles, Susan Lee Chun, Ivan Toth Depena, John Espinosa, Eugenio Espinoza, Luis Gispert, Adler Guerrier, Jason Hedges, Alex Heria, The House, Maria Martinez-Canas, Daniel Newman, Glexis Novoa, Ernesto Oroza, Jonathan Peck, Gavin Perry, Beatriz Monteavaro, Manny Prieres, Ralph Provisero, George Sanchez – Calderon, Tom Scicluna, Onajide Shabaka, Diego Singh, Kristen Thiele, Robert Thiele, Kyle Trowbridge, Frances Trombly, TM Sisters, 20/20 Projects, Odalis Valdivieso, Eugenia Vargas, and Michelle Weinberg, Trisha Brookbank, Ernesto Burgos, Clifton Childree, Craig Kucia, Pepe Mar, Vickie Pierre, Gustavo Roman, and Tawnie Silva among others.
