"I believe everyone yearns for the truth in some way or another. My way is through my work. The fine liquid lines in my drawings stretch as far my mind does, allowing me to delve deep into myself. I believe everyone yearns for the truth in some way or another. My way is through my work. The fine liquid lines in my drawings stretch as far my mind does, allowing me to delve deep into myself. I work intuitively and the orderliness and systematic approach in my drawings derive from observation and careful execution. However, I try to avoid direct references to the phenomenal world such as the sky, moon or sun because my work is more about an invisible than visible reality.
I find myself close to Kandinsky. We overlap in our need to express the inner world through abstract form and color, and to transcendent the material world. My materials, the nibs I use for the drawing, the large variety of colored and mixed inks, glossy, flat, transparent or opaque, and the stained and burnished paper are my guides to finding the absolute. Goethe said that, “… the highest problem of any art is to cause by appearance the illusion of a higher reality”.This is my constant challenge.
