Janja Arnolj è la prima e finora unica artista in grado di modellare il metacrilato trasparente e colorato (plexiglas) per trarne sculture e quadri tridimensionali, opere dalle linee sinuose e sottili che sembrano fatte di aria e di luce; geometrie trasparenti, strutturalmente esistenti nella terza dimensione, ma senza peso ottico.

Presentazione dell'artista

Janja Arnolj, di origini sloveno/austriache, è figlia d'arte. Suo padre insegnava alle Accademie di Praga e Ljubljana e già in famiglia respira aria d'arte.

Inizia l'attività artistica soltanto in età matura, attratta da un materiale particolare come il metacrilato (plexiglas) che le permette di ricavare forme diverse con trasparenze e opacità di grande leggerezza e senso di spiritualità.

Unica artista in grado di realizzare sculture e quadri interamente in plexiglas è valorizzata dai critici e corteggiata dagli intenditori che stanno seguendo con crescente interesse gli sviluppi di questa dote.

È nata l’arte di Janja Arnolj, le cui originali sculture in metacrilato trasparente rappresentano una novità assoluta nel panorama culturale contemporaneo. È la prima e finora unica artista in grado di realizzare sculture in plexiglas, valorizzata dai critici, corteggiata dagli intenditori che stanno seguendo con crescente interesse gli sviluppi di questa dote, le declinazioni di questo talento, che si esprime con opere dalle linee sinuose e sottili che sembrano fatte di aria e di luce, qui esaltate dalle fotografie di Bruno Balestrini.
Salde radici austriache, sangue sloveno nelle vene, a 23 anni Janja arriva in Italia; dopo aver gestito un prestigioso studio professionale, si lascia ardere dal “sacro fuoco”, lei, figlia d’arte, che fin dall’infanzia ha respirato aria creativa, grazie al padre, un accademico di Lubiana, pittore e scultore di rara eleganza.
Il suo estro infinito si concretizza grazie alle sue mani, ricettacoli di energia, che ammansiscono la durezza del metacrilato, rendendolo un materiale morbido e versatile.

Lastre anonime di plexiglas si trasformano in opere leggere e trasparenti, in cristalli di ghiaccio riflettenti la luce in un caleidoscopio di colori, in versi tangibili di una poesia di plastica che, fra linee tonde e aguzze, si esprime in forme sia figurative che astratte.

Le sue creazioni sono stelle iridescenti nel cosmo dell’arte. Incredibili pezzi da collezionare. Magnifici oggetti di design da osservare, da contemplare, da esporre. Janja Arnolj is the first and, until now, the only artist able to shape transparent and coloured methacrylate (plexiglass) in order to make sculptures and three-dimensional pictures, works of art by thin and flexuous lines that seems made of air and light; transparent structures, structurally existent in the third dimension, but without optical weight.

Artist's presentation

Janja Arnolj, of Slovene/Austrian origins, comes from an artistic family. Her father was teaching at the Academies of Prague and Ljubljana, therefore she is already exposed to arts within her family. She starts the artistic activity only at older age, attracted by a particular material, methacrylate (Plexiglas), which allows her to obtain different shapes with extremely light transparencies and opacities, and great sense of spirituality.
She is the only artist able to realize sculptures and paintings entirely in Plexiglas, she is appreciated by critics and sought for by experts who are following the development of this skill with increasing interest.

The art of Janja Arnolj has been created with original sculptures in transparent methacrylate representing an absolute novelty in a contemporary cultural panorama. She is the first and, until now, the only artist able to create sculpture in plexiglass, valued by critics, courted by intenders who have followed the development of these gifts with increasing interest, the decline of this talent, exalted by Bruno Balestrini’s photographs.
Strong Austrian roots, Slovenian blood in her veins, at 23 years of age Janja arrived in Italy; after having run a prestigious professional studio, she let herself be burnt by the “sacred fire”, she, the daughter of an artist, who from infancy had breathed creativity thanks to her father, an academic from Lubiana, a painter and sculptor of rare elegance.

Her infinite inspiration became concrete thanks to her hands, receptacles of energy, that model the hardness of the metacrilato rendering it soft and versatile.
Anonymous sheets of plexiglass transformed into light and transparent works of art, into ice crystals that reflect the light in a kaleidoscope of colours, in tangible verses of a poem of plastic where, in the middle of rounded and sharp shapes, she expresses herself in both figurative and abstract forms.
Her creations are florescent stars in the cosmos of art. Incredible pieces for collections. Magnificent objects to observe, contemplate and put on show.
