Ro-ko-ko-mix. "mixes of literature and photographic collages. The smell of recycled paper and paint, wallpapers and sweating arms. And some more things from personages' surrounding, such as, poet's typewriter, Martynas' clock, chair, carpet and the jacket of detective Stasys"(R.Pralgauskas)
Rokas Pralgauskas (*1984) is special personality, which started his
creative life absolutely independently. Though he hasn't finished
any specific art studies, he differs from others with interesting
and contemporary works, which already are acknowledged by Europe.
Rokas is not only photographer, he is also comic-strip creator,
published himself photography album and recorded CD /armonicca
orchestra. Rokas also often participates in international jazz
festivals. In this exhibition you can find the most important series
of artist.
It is mixes of literature and photographic collages. The smell of
recycled paper and paint, wallpapers and sweating arms. And some
more things from personages' surrounding, such as, poet's
typewriter, Martynas' clock, chair, carpet and the jacket of
detective Stasys..
The characters are not made up, neither the things are created nor
the stories are fake. It is time where people flounce never finding
the right place, the time where we go abroad searching for happy
life, where ones go mad, kill, quarell, shout, work hard, drink,
dance, fuck, laugh and fight. You have to be strong enough to keep
your surrounding clean. Not only physicaly but spiritually as well.
Mixes is the stories about weak ones. It is pointless to look for
conceptual idea here, it is more social daily life, reality. Is it
right or wrong? Everyone has a right to his oponion, but i want to
believe there is some humanity left.
