The Origins of Landscape Photography in Scotland. Landscape is central to the Scottish visual imagination. The exhibition is concentrates in particular on the photographer John Muir Wood, arguably Scotland's earliest systematic landscape photographer. Tracking the emergence of a vital genre between 1840 and 1860, the exhibition reveals what it was to experience the land for the first time through the camera lens.
