Hannover Goes Fashion

Ten venues, Hannover

The art and culture of fashion. One topic

comunicato stampa

Ten museums, galleries and cultural institutions in Hannover take on the endeavour to portray the subject of fashion and its impact on cultural history, art, design and society.

One thing becomes clear through this project: Fashion is a culturally and economically universal subject. Fashion attracts everybody and everybody wears fashion.

HANNOVER GOES FASHION offers visitors the unique chance to experience the various aspects of fashion in ten different exhibitions. Exhibition visitors encounter the topic of fashion in dialogue with art, design and sculpture as well as in the context of historical and contemporary beauty standards, moral concepts and social circumstances.

At the same time, fashion is displayed as a central element in advertising, film and television. Leigh Bowery is shown as an example of using fashion for a creative self-portrayal and Helmut Lang's work proves that fashion can be the theme of a comprehensive design concept.
