The Universe and Everything in It. Using automotive pin striping techniques, tools and high gloss enamels, this show features a body of work completed within the last year. Trivitt works in a very autonomic and stream-of-conscious manner, yet the details and overall impression is that of total precision and control.
L2kontemporary Gallery is pleased to announce the third, and latest, exhibition of
new paintings by Thomas Trivitt. Using automotive pin striping techniques, tools and
high gloss enamels, this show features a body of work completed within the last
year. Trivitt works in a very autonomic and stream-of-conscious manner, yet the
details and overall impression is that of total precision and control. A bold color
palette greatly adds drama and tension of the work, a visual tug-of-war.
The theme of the exhibition, "The Universe and Everything in It", deals with a Zen
like attempt, on each individual canvas, to represent all that was, is, and will be.
Each movement, or line, spiritually and psychologically connects with every
particle of matter that has ever or ever will exist.
The artist lives in Huntington Beach, California and has shown his work in both solo
and group shows throughout California. Please join us for a reception for the
artist that will be held on October 18, 2008 from 7 - 10 PM. The show will remain
on view through November 15, 2008.
