In 2008 the art fair again takes place in 2 locations simultaneously, one at the Aqua Hotel in South Beach, near Art Basel Miami Beach, and Aqua Wynwood in the heart of Miami's gallery district. The fair is based on the west coast USA, and organizers have made it their mission to promote innovative programming in their region as well as the greater USA and abroad, with a particular interest in supporting young dealers and galleries with strong emerging artist programs.
In 2008 the Aqua Art Miami art fair will again take place in two locations simultaneously, one at the Aqua Hotel in South Beach, near Art Basel Miami Beach where we first launched the fair, and Aqua Wynwood in the heart of Miami's gallery district, just a few blocks from the Rubell Collection, and close to other important venues such as the Margulies Collection and the MOCA Goldman warehouse, and a number of other satellite fairs including NADA, Pulse, Scope Miami, Art Miami, Photo Miami, and The Photography Show.
Aqua Art Miami is based on the west coast USA, and fair organizers have made it their mission to promote innovative programming in their region as well as the greater USA and abroad, with a particular interest in supporting young dealers and galleries with strong emerging artist programs. Approximately half of the galleries are from Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, with the remainder being from a wide range of other cities.
Aqua Art Miami takes place in two locations simultaneously, one at the Aqua Hotel in South Beach, near Art Basel Miami Beach where we first launched the fair in 2005. Our additional new venue, Aqua Wynwood, is in a warehouse in Miami's Wynwood gallery district, near important venues like the Rubell Collection and many others.
This year we'll feature approximately 42 galleries in the intimate setting of the the Aqua Hotel. Based on the west coast, fair organizers have made it their mission to promote noteworthy programs in their region as well as the greater USA, with a particular interest in supporting young dealers and galleries with strong emerging artist programs. About half of the galleries are from Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, with the remainder being from a wide range of other cities in the US and abroad.
The hotel itself is a classic South Beach boutique hotel with breezy, spacious rooms surrounding an intimate courtyard which has become a favorite gathering spot to relax and socialize during Art Basel week. Aqua is located within walking distance of Art Basel, just south of the bustling Lincoln Road restaurant and shopping area. Many hotel beach bars and cocktail events are close by and the glorious beach itself is just a block away.
An Aqua shuttle runs in a continual loop between the Aqua Hotel, Aqua Wynwood, and Art Basel Miami Beach each day during regular event hours.
