For more then two month MNAC presents the site-specific installation of the french artist Fabien Verschaere.

Fabien Verschaere is revealing a deeply subjective and emotional imagery creating hybrid icons, His style is a powerful mix of references to mural graffiti, cartoons, illustrated manuscripts from flamboyant moyen age, club culture, video games and glam industry.

The Christmas tale, that Verschaere shows at the MNAC, is transformed into a “XMAS PARTY” full of creatures very different from the usual Christmas characters (like Santa Clauses, elves, reindeers and spirits). Attracted by the artist’s cartoon style - black and white, an improvised, fluent and pleasant line -, the visitor looks for recognizable figures of his own life, his own fantasy. Nevertheless it is very quickly evident, that the Verschaere’s world is made up of demons, devils, skeletons, other death-figures…

Fabien Verschaere lives and works in Paris. During the last years he had personal/ group exhibitions in Palais de Tokyo Paris, Contemporary Art Museum Lyon, Michel Rein Gallery, Parker’s Box Gallery, New York, Castelo di Rivoli, Torino, CCC Tours. Verschaere took part in the de la Praga, Tirana and Lyon Bienials and collaborated with Hugo Boss and Hermes.
