This exhibition will be the largest and most significant solo presentation of the Los Angeles-based photographer and filmmaker Sharon Lockhart in an American museum to date, focusing on recent series of works created in Japan, Mexico, and Brazil.
Lockhart investigates the relationship between the photograph and the motion picture in works that employ a cinematic mise en scéne to present a uniquely personal and unconventional images of people fromother cultures.
