'En Route'
The Hood Gallery
The Hood Gallery is proud to present the work French
artist Karine Bonneval
for the inaugural exhibition of the gallery. 'En
Route' is Bonneval's first
solo exhibition in the United States and the work has
been produced
specifically for The Hood Gallery.
The artist has made a series of leather masks which
are imprints of her
mouth and jaw. Meticulously crafted, these objects are
scattered around the
main gallery which has been painted pink in its
entirety for the occasion.
The masks, which are clearly created to have a muting
effect create a
tension toward the chattiness of the sentences which
connect them. These
words are written with pasta letters and relate to the
pleasures of
conversing during driving and the possibilities and
impossibilities of
communication between human beings in general.
Private view 7-10 pm, May 4 at:
Raid Projects
602 Moulton Ave
Los Angeles, CA 90031
(323) 441-9593
Karine Bonneval was born in 1970 and has shown
extensively in France.

Chateauroux and M&T de
la Chà tre, Paris. The artist lives and works in Paris.
