Countless publishers have designed different series of publications with quite diverse formats, concepts and appearances
The curator Guy Schraenen have soughts in this case to emphasise a typical editorial process of the 1960s/1970s. Countless publishers have designed different series of publications with quite diverse formats, concepts and appearances. While generally imposing the format and number of pages, they gave free rein to the artist's creativity, as far as the inner appearance of the publication was concerned. Even if these series often brought together artists with the same artistic tendency, the final result was an enormous diversity in the use of the book as a space of creation. Dozens of series came into being in this way both in Europe and in the United States, such as "Great Bear Pamphlet" by Dick Higgins, "Futura" by Hansjorg Mayer, "Double Page" in Switzerland or "Lap Press" published in the United States.
