The Promenade Gallery is an ambitious project, which started in 2007 in
order to promote contemporary art in Albania. Starting in September 2009,
the gallery will present its new program for 2009/2010 season, which will
include personal and collective projects mainly with pieces from emerging
artists. The Promenade Gallery does not aim to be only a centre for
contemporary arts, but its ambition is to coordinate interesting art
projects inside as well as outside Albania. As such, the Promenade Gallery
is determined to keep an open mind towards all arousing proposals.
The Promenade Gallery presents in 11 october 2009 the double solo exhibition
of Gaia Fugazza and Fani Zguro. For the exhibition “Sarrasine” the italian
artist Gaia Fugazza shows a series of collages, appropriates images of
different architectures in black and white and uses them as an elegant
juxtapositions, adopts the content and contexts of the original images to
convey his own poignant meanings. The albanian artist Fani Zguro shows a
series of video in black and white, using and manipulating ’70 albanian noir
movies to transform into collating footage.
