The exhibition presents a serie of new photographs, taken between 2007 and 2009. The serie's title, which is also the exhibition's, is borrowed from a special place in a big public park in Beijing, where the walker can immerse himself in a flowered and idyllic countryside, where nature's illusions (at the same time wild and reassuring) is cleverly staged.
In his last work, titled Ecostream, Guillaume Janot explores through photography a few artificial or recreated environments. From Disneyland to a botanical garden in Sydney, passing through Beijing or Vincenne's zoo, this universe of images, the corpus's nucleus, is represented by unnatural dimensions, delocated, entirely made and which the use is essentially dedicated to leisure.
The exhibition at the Fondation d'entreprise Ricard presents a serie of new photographs, taken between 2007 and 2009. The serie's title, which is also the exhibition's, is borrowed from a special place in a big public park in Beijing, where the walker can immerse himself in a flowered and idyllic countryside, where nature's illusions (at the same time wild and reassuring) is cleverly staged. Through this work, far from « putting at a distance », or to proceed, a step a side, by revealing/denouncing the artificial dimension of the place , the artist, on the contrary, extends, hams, through the images, their attempts (or ours), sometimes naïve, submerging from "elsewhere".
Prime facie wrong, we travel the world with images, a world that seems familiar or exotic and which only the photograph's title locates and appoints the places, revealing us their real nature.
