Escape. In his demonstratively staged installations, interventions and performances in public places, artist explores the possibilities of an individual articulation over other developments taking place in civil society, that are triggered by group dynamics such as gentrification, globalization, migration and their aftermaths.
Political activism and the idea of art production as a political act are the basis for Hannes Zebedin’s distinct interest in structural and system analysis, as well as for the interaction between individuals and urban, socially defined spaces.
In his demonstratively staged installations, interventions and performances in public places, he explores the possibilities of an individual articulation over other developments taking place in civil society, that are triggered by group dynamics such as gentrification, globalization, migration and their aftermaths.
As a frequently traveling artist, he uses the possibillity of a temporary act in new surroundings from the perspective of a different viewpoint, while he, at the same time, self-reflectively questions the lasting potential of his interventions. In his contemporary interpretation he is looking for a possible determination of a political and artistic disposition contrary to the postmodern "Anything goes".
