Untitled (enclosure installation). The enclosure series isolates volumes of space in an already defined piece of architecture, heightening the perception of light and time. Untitled (enclosure installation)
The enclosure series isolates volumes of space in an already defined piece of
architecture, heightening the perception of light and time. Mark Shunney uses
live feed video to capture an empty and raw finished interior of the structure
that he builts, not the activities of people moving through spaces.
The
unfinished look of each unit stands out and off of the white gallery walls.
It
eliminates the presence of people and poses the question of what exactly we are
looking at and why using the surveillance to capture the banality of time in a
manmade space.
Mark Shunney received MFA from Rhode Island School of Design and
BFA from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He is the founder and director
of the Brooklyn Front in DUMBO, Brooklyn, NY.
