“Maybe” reflects the fact that knowledges are difficult to express and hard to pin down, and that art and artistic research often avoid any form of stable meaning. “Maybe” refers, in positive terms, to the lack of certainty, and of any general statement presenting the whole. It is rather a marker for an active reconsideration of ways of presenting knowledge in the context of art. Pointing to the challenge that art poses to the desire for coherence, and questioning our addiction to words, this program aims to inspire ways of acting inside different ideas and logics. It indicates the impossibility of reducing art—and any other complex form of knowledge—to a single explanation, question, subject matter, or paradigm.

Grazie al progetto Maybe Education, pensato e voluto fortemente da Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev e da Chus Martinez per questa edizione di documenta, il nostro mese di permanenza qui a Kassel si sta rivelando ogni giorno più intenso e interessante grazie alla conoscenza di altri ragazzi provenienti da accademie di tutto il mondo. E molti di loro hanno lasciato tracce della loro presenza sui muri dell'ex ospedale pediatrico dove siamo alloggiati.
