Scene 16: The question itself. A film screening by artist of his short film Voyage to Rodez
FormContent presents Scene 16: The question itself, a film screening by Sylvere Lotringer of his short film Voyage to Rodez, accompanied by a conversation with Katherine Waugh and a discussion with the audience and invited contributors. Framed by an interest in the work of Antonin Artaud, Lotringer will address the question of how writing relates to art and politics. Related to FormContent's programme and a reconceptualization of the subject/object divide in art, Lotringer will speak about the necessity of a mode of engagement. The film Voyage to Rodez departs from Artaud's transfer from the Ville-Evrard asylum in a Paris suburb to the Rodez asylum in the South of France in the forties, where he was treated or tortured with electric shocks and cured of his delirium, after which he began to write again. 14 May 2013, 7 pm.
