Now in its fifth year, the Antelope Valley Independent Film Festival showcases films of all genres and formats in theatrical venues in the Antelope Valley. The festival eagerly seeks films of uncompromising originality and welcomes debut screenings. Although the festival focuses on short films, feature film submissions will be entertained.
Now in its fifth year, the Antelope Valley Independent Film Festival showcases films of all genres and formats in theatrical venues in the Antelope Valley. In past years the festival has showcased films from festivals around the world, including Cannes, Sundance, Los Angeles, Austin, Atlanta, Telluride, New York, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Student Academy Awards.
Submission Procedure:
1) Films must be submitted in VHS (All international formats accepted).
2) Foreign film submissions must be either subtitled or dubbed in English.
3) Priority consideration will be given to films where a primary member of the cast or crew can attend the screening, as discussions customarily follow each program.
4) Entries must include a completed application form, film synopsis, a principal cast/credits list, and 1 to 3 photos/stills.
5) Entries selected for viewing at the festival will screen in their original formats (16mm, 35mm, and video).
Entry Fees, Deadline, Notification, and Scheduling:
6) There is a $10.00 entry fee for all submissions regardless of length. Checks should be made payable to the Antelope Valley Independent Film Festival.
7) Submission deadline is March 1, 2001. Late entries will be accepted although there will be no guarantee that the film will be screened.
8) Applications are available on this website; please click here to access an application to print.
9) Notifications will be made prior to April 1, 2001.
10) Films are scheduled at the discretion of the Antelope Valley Independent Film Festival. The Antelope Valley Independent Film Festival retains the right to make changes to the published schedule at any time and for any reason.
