The second Lecture-Lounge marathon will take place
Tuesday, June 19th, 2001, between 11 am - 11pm, at the
P.S.1 Clocktower Gallery. LL vol.02 extends the open
source structure of the LL vol.01 (Feb. 20, 2001),
from the artistic and theoretical discourse to the
artistic contexts and networks of the P.S.1's
Studio artists and their collaborators. LL vol.02
presents an international range of curatorial,
theoretical and artistic positions of various
art scenes, in order to outline current discourses,
cultural developments and alternative structures
of art mediation within the international
operating system of art. In addition to the
lecture-marathon the artists will transform the entire
gallery and the studios to a multilayer of events with
performances, installations, an all-day-lounge,
which includes an archive of all LL-participants
(documentation, catalogues, slide- and videodisplay),
a service terminal, a café/bar and ongoing
disc-jockey-events ...

The Clocktower Lecture Lounge is an artist-run initiative,
intended to create an on-going temporary forum for
inter-cultural artistic and theoretical exchanges and
practices. It is organized and realized by the
P.S.1 National/International Studio Program artists
and their collaborators, developed from the on-site/
on-line concept + format by Angelika Middendorf and
Andreas Schimanski.
