THE OTHER WCCAHH EVENT . . .
FRESH ART FESTIVALS(tm)
The WCCAHH presents the first in a series of summer Fresh Art Festivals, a
brand new concept for bringing art to the people. Top en pleine air artists
(those who paint in the open air) will share their art with participants at
established Art Fairs in Wayne County.
The Fresh Art Festival is a family oriented event that will give all
attendees a rare glimpse of the artistic process. Several top
teaching-artists will choose an area to spread out and work, painting and
drawing in a variety of mediums and styles. Each teaching-artist will have
3-4 "apprentices" (age 15 +) painting nearby whose work they will
periodically critique. There will also be a station for young people (14 and
under) to paint their own masterpieces, under the guidance of
teaching-artists, specializing in working with children. Artist/Teachers
include Paula Stephenson, Michael Wood Connel and Robert Maniscalco.
All "Fresh Art" will be exhibited and in some cases, sold at auction (now
that's educational!) Scholarships are open to all ages and available to
those interested in participating as "apprentices." For scholarships,
participants must submit 50 words or less on "why I deserve a scholarship"
to WCCAHH-FAF c/o Maniscalco Gallery, 17728 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe, MI
