Modern Mondays: contemporary filmmakers and moving image artists to present their work
MoMA's ongoing showcase for innovation on screen, Modern Mondays allows contemporary filmmakers and moving image artists to present their work directly to audiences. The multimedia artist Ming Wong (b. 1971) - who lives and works in both Berlin and his native Singapore - introduces a selection of his work. Already celebrated in Europe and Australia, and having won a rare Special Mention for his installation for the Singapore Pavilion at the 2009 Venice Biennale, Ming Wong confronts notions of national, racial, linguistic, and gender identity. Ming's work also references both Malay cinema and the films of Hollywood and the Western avant-garde. On October 25, Irish-born, Vienna-based media artist John Gerrard presents his recent work in real-time 3-D.
