A panel about public art, where artists will listen to speakers 'de-mystify' the process
At NYFA, we've been talking about public art and accessibility to public funding. We therefore decided it would be beneficial to create a panel about public art, where artists can listen to speakers "de-mystify" the process by talking about strategies and best practices for success. This panel will include a mix of both administrators and an artist. Come learn about the do's and don'ts of public art, and ask any quesiotns you may have. Panelists: Charlotte Cohen, Fine Arts Officer at the GSA. She is an arts administrator with many years of experience in the field of public art. Kelly Pajek, Deputy Director of Percent for Art. In her fourteen years working in public art Kelly has commissioned both emerging, and established artists in the development of over 70 permanent works of art nationally. Mary Miss has reshaped the boundaries between sculpture, architecture, landscape design, and installation art by articulating a vision of the public sphere where it is possible for an artist to address the issues of our time.
