Seminar and lecture by Branden W. Joseph
In the frame of the exhibition "Accomplices. The photographer and the artist around 1970" Branden W. Joseph will present a seminar and a public lecture touching upon the relationship of various post-war US artists to photography and film. The seminar will focus on the photographic and cinematic practices of Robert Rauschenberg, Jack Smith, and Ken Jacobs. The public lecture will focus on the little-known cinematic work of renowned Pop artist Claes Oldenburg. Branden W. Joseph is Frank Gallipoli Professor of Modern and Contemporary art in the Department of Art History and Archaeology at Columbia University.
