Symposium 'Where We Meet: Cultural Translation and Art in Social Transformation'. The last years have seen the establishment of an ever-growing transnational network of African artists and curators, who proactively founded and run art spaces in their home towns. The symposium sheds a light on the role of these initiatives with regard to their influence on social transformations as well as the challenges of cultural translation processes that the actors encounter. 5th and 6th of June at Werkstatt der Kulturen in English, free and open to the public.
