A panel discussion which explores key aspects of Sigmar Polke's cross-disciplinary approach
Organized in conjunction with the retrospective "Alibis: Sigmar Polke 1963-2010", this panel discussion explores key aspects of Sigmar Polke's cross-disciplinary approach and its significance for artists working today. Panelists include artists Frances Stark, Carroll Dunham, Wolfgang Tillmans, Ken Okiishi, and Glenn Ligon. Moderated by Kathy Halbreich, exhibition curator and Associate Director, MoMA. The exhibition places Polke's enormous skepticism of all social, political, and artistic traditions against German history and the country's transformation in the postwar period. Four gallery spaces on MoMA's second floor are dedicated to the exhibition, which comprises more than 250 works. (Image: Polke, Mao. 1972.
