The History of the Bauhaus in Weimar

Curatorial Talk. Andrea Dietrich and Julia Draganovic try to evoke the enthusiastic atmosphere in Weimar at the beginning of the Twenties to analyse the reasons and motivations that led to the foundation of the Bauhaus. They will give a short overview over visions and practices of the Bauhaus in Weimar until, forced by the political developments, it had to move to Dessau. A short introduction into the work of Gropius, Feininger, Itten and Klee will show the patrimony which Bauhaus left .
