HOW CAN THE ARTIST BE GENEROUS? - THE BANK OF TIME

is a no profit public action by Valentina Ferrarese in occasion of Free Manifesta, Frankfurt.

Bank of Time is part of IDP project.

''The action functions as a "bank of time" thanks to which people can ask the artist to hold a work,an appointment, a job, instead of them and for free.

The people will be asked to remain in place of the artist; they will get informed of the event by daily newspapers annoucements and flyng copies.

The Bank of Time is a short action by which the art act tries to become a context of public domain.The artist underlines the necessity of an open relationship between art, public space, people and their everyday's life, in which openess can be achieved only by a "generous way of doing art".

It concerns not only the relationship between artist and people, but also the one between artist and "artwork" or "artdoing" in which he/she should be able to lose control of the final result.''
