A play by Elmgreen & Dragset. Screening at Salon Populaire - Conversations and Activities on the Subjects Space & Love.
A play by Elmgreen & Dragset; text by Tim Etchells. Drama Queens is a play without actors. Seven 20th Century superstar sculptures find themselves trapped on a theatre stage and out of the usual context. How do they interact with this new environment and with each other? The drama unfolds through a series of clashes and crossovers between the various ''isms'' and aesthetics which these sculptures represent. The different sculptures are icons inspired by 20th century art history: Walking Man by Alberto Giacometti, Brillo Box by Andy Warhol, Elegy III by Barbara Hepworth, Four Cubes by Sol Lewitt , Untitled (Granite) by Ulrich Ruckriem, Cloud Shepherd by Jean Arp and Rabbit by Jeff Koons. The play has been developed for the exhibition skulptur projekte Munster 07. Salon Populaire is a meeting point for conversations on art and neighboring topics, and for the convergence of different ideas, positions and contexts. It presents 'Conversations and Activities on the Subjects Space & Love'. A series of performances, screenings and presentations. The program always starts at 8 p.m.
