Q&A: Architects Discuss Their World Trade Center Proposals

The Architectural League, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and The Museum of Modern Art are sponsoring a two-part symposium on the proposed designs for the rebuilding of lower Manhattan, to be held on January 15 and 16. Participants include members of the seven architecture teams chosen last fall by the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation to submit plans for the redesign of the World Trade Center site.

Evening I: Wednesday, January 15 from 4:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m. at the Great Hall at The Cooper Union, Third Avenue at 7 Street. Moderated by Reed Kroloff. Entry is free, but tickets are required and can be obtained beginning Friday, January 10 at the Architectural League, 457 Madison Avenue between 50 and 51 Streets, Monday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Closed Sunday. . Tickets can also be obtained at The MoMA Design Store, Soho, 81 Spring Street, Monday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m. Sunday, 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. For information call 646/613-1367. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are limited to two per person.

Evening II: Thursday, January 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Town Hall, 123 West 43 Street. Moderated by Terence Riley, Rosalie Genevro, and Anthony Vidler. Entry is free, but tickets are required and can be obtained beginning Wednesday, January 8 at The Town Hall box office, Monday-Saturday, noon-6:00 p.m. A limited number of tickets will also be available on the evening of the event. Closed Sunday. Tickets are limited to two per person.

The public may propose questions in advance to the moderators by email at Q&A@moma.org until Tuesday, January 14 at noon. It may not be possible to address all questions at the symposium.
