A performance by Ted Kuhn and a food event
Athens Institute for Contemporary Art is pleased to invite the public to enjoy the Grit-Off, a grits competition judged by local foodies. enjoy Keep Hope Alive, a provocative performance art piece by Ted Kuhn addressing the relationship between the Hope Scholarship and the Georgia Lottery. The simultaneous events will take place on Friday, Nov. 3rd, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. The Grit-Off contest will be judged by three area food experts; including Hilary Brown, Grub Notes writer for Flagpole Magazine, Alice Mills of Mills farm who produce the locally made Red Mule Grits and a third mystery judge TBA. The contest has been organized by Jordan A. Rothacker, the ATHICA Board Secretary. Attendees will be able to share in the plentiful offerings provided by local eateries for a suggested donation of only six dollars.
