Reinterpreting the collection of the museum
The National Council for Culture and the Arts, the National Institute of Fine Arts and the Museum of Art Carrillo Gil invite shows "Violent times. Reinterpreting the Collection of the Museum of Art Carrillo Gil" who is a fresh new approach to the collection MACG through the notion of violence as the linchpin of research and content. This exhibition is the result of a collaboration between the MACG, Americas Society and the Graduate Program in Art History at the National University, with the intention of contributing to the formation of a new generation of historians and art critics. The works of Jose' Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Gunther Gerzso and Wolfgang Paalen, have been described as masterpieces of the original collection, but also assembled work of artists like Luis Nishizawa, engravings of Popular Graphics Workshop and several European graphic folders.
