Performative Lecture: Magellania
As part of the Residencies Open Studio Weekend, Swedish artist-in-residence Love Enqvist presents a performative lecture that explores the book Magellania by Jules Verne alongside the multiple narratives that surround Isla Navarino near Cape Horn in Patagonia. During the lecture, Enqvist will attempt to problematise different modes of representation by looking at the Patagonian colonisation of the area, touching upon notions of history, memory, film and the fragility of life within a community, as well as his own personal reflections on the subject matter.
