The participants of this exhibition are graduates from the 1998 Fine Arts Department of Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts from various disciplines such as Sculpture, Printmaking, Installation Art, Video Art and Painting.
The participants of this exhibition are graduates from the 1998 Fine Arts Department of LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts from various disciplines such as Sculpture, Printmaking, Installation Art, Video Art and Painting.
The title is a cheeky combination of the words 'idiots' and 'gaze'. The latter was used as a title by the participants for their graduation exhibition back in 1998. The suggestion of idiocy, of having a certain warped logic, an excessive amount of self-indulgence, a personalised tainted view that works ever-so-slightly against the rational secular system that we exist in, makes the participants' navigation through the self-discovery of life and its meaning much more unpredictable and tricky. Thus 5 years on till this present day, it is heartening and encouraging to know that the idiots have stuck fiercely to their guns, in continuing to gaze.
