comunicato stampa

72 HOUR INTERACTIONS is a festival that connects gamers, artists, architects, designers, cultural activists, and residents. Within 3 days and 3 nights, the urban space of Witten will be transformed by means of temporary works: a spectacular festival of active urban participation.

During the festival, from July 23 to 27, 2014 international teams on site are to tackle tasks that deal with local issues and requirements. For 72 hours, the teams work together in order to uncover the hidden potential of five places determined in advance – designing and realizing projects in public space by means of imagination, discussion and physical work. The teams work and sleep on site and develop their interventions in urban space within a tight time schedule, a small budget and limited space.

Via the Internet platform, local residents of the Ruhr Valley and everybody interested in the project can stay informed about the festival. The World Championship of Gameful Architecture takes place in July 2014. Urbane Künste Ruhr presents the festival together with Invisible Playground and 72 Hour Urban Action.
