The Mile-Long Paper Walk (1965/2014), Four in a Dress (1967/2014): Dress for Two (1969)
Three of James Lee Byars's (American, 1932-1997) most influential performance works will be presented at MoMA, building on his long history with the Museum. The performances, held in conjunction with the MoMA PS1 exhibition James Lee Byars: 1/2 an Autobiography, highlight Byars's innovative work in fabric, costumes, and paper, which include key performative dimensions. The Mile-Long Paper Walk will be performed by Jimmy Robert (French, b. 1975); it was originally performed by Lucinda Childs (American, b. 1940), who provided choreographic instruction for this performance. The Performance Program is organized by Ana Janevski with Leora Morinis.
