L'attivita' di Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto verra' presentata dall'11 al 15 marzo al The Armory Show e in due centri culturali di New York: 16Beaver e Up & Co.
Love Difference: un progetto di Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto
Una rete di collaborazione progettuale per ''amare le differenze'' fra le culture del mondo. E' questo l'intento di Love Difference - Movimento Artistico per una Politica InterMediterranea che, riconoscendo come esempio emblematico la situazione conflittuale dei Paesi che si affacciano sul Mare Mediterraneo, apre un laboratorio creativo sulle problematiche socio-politiche promuovendo progetti culturali capaci di interagire e realizzarsi principalmente nella sfera pubblica.
Illy invita Love Difference, presentato dall'artista Michelangelo Pistoletto (direttore artistico di Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto) alla 50ma Biennale di Venezia, a partecipare confrontandosi con il mondo statunitense al The Armory Show - The International Fair of New Art a New York.
Un tavolo specchiante con la forma del Mar Mediterraneo, e attorniato da sedie e da sedute provenienti dai Paesi di tutto il bacino, sara' esposto nello spazio di Illy Caffe' all'interno del pier 92, per diventare un punto di incontro dove verra' servito il caffe' preparato secondo le varie tradizioni dell'area mediterranea. A chi intenda sostenere attivamente una proposta di cambiamento responsabile lo spazio sara' l'occasione per iscriversi al movimento partecipandovi con le proprie competenze per dar vita ad una rete di attivatori per capire e amare le differenze, coinvolgendo fondazioni e gruppi culturali che lavorano per una trasformazione sociale responsabile nell'area del Mediterraneo.

Presentazione di Cittadellarte e cocktail. UP & CO (Uscha Pohl & Company) e' uno spazio per l'arte in Tribeca, New York che agisce da vetrina e da catalizzatore per numerosi progetti di creativita'. Qui interagiscono i campi dell'arte, della moda e dell'editoria con le pubblicazioni di UP & CO: la rivista VERY magazine e la seie delle guide VERY styleguide. Durante la presentazione il pubblico avra' la possibilita' di aderire al movimento Love Difference (le prime 500 sottoscrizioni ricevono ''Intermediterraneo'', serigrafia firmata da Michelangelo Pistoletto)
I due incontri al 16Beaver e all'Up & Co Gallery sono organizzati grazie al supporto di Lauretana Spa, Biella, azienda produttrice dell'acqua piu' leggera d'Europa
Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto rappresenta un grande laboratorio dove la creativita' si pone al centro dell'incontro tra i diversi settori culturali, economici e produttivi. Cittadellarte ha sede a Biella e dedica la propria attivita' alla trasformazione sociale responsabile organizzando mostre, convegni, dibattiti, concerti, performances, spettacoli e conferenze che mettono l'arte in connessione con ogni altro settore del sistema sociale, dall'economia alla politica, dalla scienza alla produzione, dall'educazione al comportamento.
Il progetto principale dell'Ufficio Educazione di Cittadellarte e' UNIDEE - Universita' delle Idee, un organismo che ogni anno organizza cicli di conferenze e promuove ''Unidee in residence International Program'', un vero e proprio campus della creativita' che da' a studenti e artisti provenienti da tutto il mondo la possibilita' di vivere, sviluppare progetti e lavorare per quattro mesi a Cittadellarte, seguendo workshop e seminari tenuti da esperti e da docenti di diverse discipline. Nei giorni scorsi e' stato presentato il bando di Unidee in residence 2004 che scade il 20 aprile prossimo.
Love Difference e' un movimento artistico che mette direttamente in gioco la creativita' per dare nuovo significato al termine ''politico'' apportando nuovi obiettivi e nuove pratiche alla politica stessa. Il movimento focalizza la sua attivita' nell'area mediterranea in cui si rispecchiano i grandi problemi della societa' globale

From 11 to 15 March Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto will present its activities at The Armory Show and in two cultural centers of New York: 16Beaver and Up&Co Gallery.
Love Difference: a project by Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto
To build a network of project cooperation to ''love difference'' among the different cultures of the world. This is the aim of Love Difference - Artistic Movement for InterMediterranean Politic which, taking the conflictual situation of the Countries that face the Mediterranean Sea as an emblematic example, organises a creative workshop that deals with socio-political issues and promotes cultural projects that can interact with one another and be carried out mainly in the public sector.
Illy has invited Love Difference, which was presented by the artist Michelangelo Pistoletto (artistic director of Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto) at the 50th edition of the Venice Biennal, to The Armory Show - The International Fair of New Art, in New York, thus allowing it to come into contact with the North-American reality.
A mirroring table shaped like the Mediterranean Sea and surrounded by chairs coming from all the different Countries of the basin will be displayed in the exhibiting space of Illy Caffe', and will become a meeting point where coffee, prepared according to the different traditions of the Mediterranean area, will be served. For those who wish to actively support the movement's projects for a responsible social change, the stand will be a good opportunity to subscribe and to take part in the initiatives by offering one's specific skills.

A press lunch for journalists at Pier 92. Mr. Pistoletto will briefly discuss the ''Love Difference'' project and he will answer to any question and interview from the press.

A conversation with Mr. Pistoletto to launch the ''love Difference'' project to consumers. There will be refreshments and food for 30 minutes, a 30 minute conversation moderated by an art leader and then coffee served in various preparations reflecting the countries around the Mediterranean table.

Michelangelo Pistoletto will present Cittadellarte and its role in fostering new relations to artistic labor and art engaged within the social realm. The discussion will be a part of a series of activities, presentations, and events organized by 16Beaver in association with an exhibition opening in late Spring at MassMoca entitled: The Interventionists - Art in the Social Sphere.

The two events at 16Beaver and Up & Co Gallery have been organized thanks to the support of Lauretana Spa, the Biellese company that produces the lightest mineral water throughout Europe
Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto is a large workshop where creativity is conceived as the meeting point between different cultural, economical and productive sectors. Cittadellarte is based in Biella (Italy) and pursues the aim of fostering a Responsible Social Transformation by organizing exhibitions, conventions, debates, concerts, performances, shows and conferences that put art in connection with all the other sectors of the social system, including economy, politics, science, manufacturing, education and behavior.
The main project in which the Ufficio Educazione (Education Office) of Cittadellarte is involved is Unidee - Universita' delle Idee, a division of Cittadellarte that organizes a series of conferences together with the ''Unidee in residence International Program'', an authentic creativity campus that, every year, gives students and graduates from all around the world the possibility to develop projects and work at Cittadellarte for four months, attending workshops and courses held by teachers and experts in the various disciplines. The Unidee in residence 2004 notice of selection has recently been published and ends on 20 April 2004.
Love Difference is an artistic movement that calls upon directly the creativity in order to give a revived sense of the term ''political'', bringing new goals and practices to the politics itself.
