How to construct a circle with a triangle and make it move
Beirut Art Center, The Society of False Witnesses, The Theater School, The Truth and Testimony Council, and Jessika Khazrik present: How to construct a circle with a triangle and make it move, a workshop on eyes, triangles, and circles. This three-hour family workshop is developed in the context of Exposure 2014, and explores motifs and noises that play a part in the artist's installation, The Introduction to the Blue Barrel Grove Part I, currently exhibited and performed at Beirut Art Center. The aim of this workshop is twofold: first, to reconstruct through performance and collective bodies familiar forms and objects, then, to investigate the body in space. Khazrik will employ different elements from the history of Constructivist Theater, such as from the work of Vsevolod Meyerhold. The participants will also experiment with Kinesthesia, or the awareness of the position and movement of the parts of the body, as well as the notion of proxemics, or the use of space, as opposed to speech, in interpersonal communications. Sunday January 25, 2015 from 12 to 3pm.
