Le corps en jeu
Joining forces with the Nouveau festival for the second time, VidEodanse, in partnership with the CND (National Dance Centre) reflects on the way dance can integrate the broader aspect of 'play'. This idea has permeated choreography since the conception of the stage as a playground up to the present day, as has the idea of the 'tasks' governing post-modern dance, right through to the rules and protocols of popular and urban dance diverted by contemporary choreographers in order to revisit their codes more effectively, and enrich their own language. To grasp the concept of 'choreographic play' in all its diversity, as play on interpretation as well as a game in the true meaning of the term, this edition of Videodanse features screenings, meetings and live performances with stage design by the artist Chloe' Quenum, in order to show what is at play in contemporary dance's current reinterpretation of its own history.
