House with Heart, Nepal. Benefit Concert
House with Heart is a home for abandoned children, an education center for impoverished women and children, and an outreach program for needy families in Kathmandu, Nepal. The April 25th earthquake and subsequent aftershocks and second major earthquake on May 12th caused major damage to the facility, which serves so many women and children living in poverty. Thankfully all of the children, staff, and women associated with House with Heart made it through the disaster without any loss of life, but the children are traumatized and are living with staff outside in tents and recently constructed temporary tin huts. The House with Heart facility will require a combination of rebuilding and significant retrofitting to make it habitable and safe in the event of another earthquake. Their goal is to re-start their programs and take in newly orphaned children as soon as rebuilding efforts allow. House with Heart has been working tirelessly providing emergency assistance to our neighbors, community organizations, and other devastated villages. Saturday 27th June 17:00 - 19:00.
