Social criticism instruments of Ukrainian artists

Pinchuk Art Centre, Kiev

On Saturday, July 12, at 19:00 the PinchukArtCentre invites you to a special theme tour entitled 'Social criticism instruments of Ukrainian artists. Exhibition 'Borderline' is a re-thinking of social and political conditions that existed in Ukraine in 1985-2004. What was a sore spot for Ukrainian artists that triggered creation of socio-critical art works? What forms of art and what art language do artists use to be heard? Why their gestures are often referred to as radical or even shocking? The tour participants will try to find answers to these and other questions. Saturday, July 12, at 19:00 The event starts at 19:00 on the 2nd floor of the art centre, reception area. The tour will be guided by the PinchukArtCentre's guide Olga Kucheruk.
