Have you ever had the urge to go underground? To go down just a few blips below the radar screen of popular culture? We know it's not always easy to get there. It seems like every time there is some kind of underground happening going on, you hear about it after the fact.
Well this is an opportunity for you to go underground... deep underground. The first annual Sick Puppy Film and Video Festival is coming. What is the Sick Puppy Festival you might ask? It is a Film and Video Festival dedicated to hardcore, independent, underground film and video.
The Sick Puppy Festival, a project brought to you by of Rubbergash Productions, will screen over 20 films in a two-part screening style. The first screening is scheduled to take place at 7:20 P.M. and the late-screening is set to take place at 9:50 P.M. Both screenings will take place at the Pickleweed Auditorium.
Along with the opportunity to mingle with some of the film makers and stars, patrons of the festival will get the opportunity to see four World Premieres. Four epic films that have never been screened anywhere in the world... until now!
The word premieres include: H.R. Pukenshette, a film by Steve Herold, is a 9-minute film about a young man who gets dumped by his girlfriend and decides to drink himself to death. Thankfully his fairy-god pile of puke H.R. Pukenshette comes to save his life. Off Duty, a film by Blake Horobin is 39-minute film about three cops who go to their cabin in the woods for a little relaxation, fishing and torture. Voy, by Casey Thompson, is a 9-minute film about sexual obsession, and taking it all a little too far.
Also showing at the Sick Puppy Film Festival: Spit by Jeremy Drummond; Kukla Fran and Adolf by Monroe Bardot; Median Strip Search by Gloria Heilman, along with others.
There will be a post-party and an awards presentation at the Pint Size Lounge on 4th Street in San Rafael immediately following the late show. Awards are being supplied by Everythingbad.com.
