Four is pleased to present a solo show of new and developing works by
Keith McCann. McCann's work develops through the exploration of
materials. Through observation he extracts the generic from the
reality of the physical world often considering their allusions. He
questions the potential of fragmentation. Treating the fragmented as
components through a process of accumulation he believes the possibile
combinations are endless.
Adaptation, integration and resistance are all concepts relating to
McCann's practice. He is interested in how we as humans negotiate and
inhabit space, both interior and exterior while suggesting notions of
renewability and permanence. By applying himself to a system of rules
McCann comments on society, the purpose and function of it's existing
rules, codes and classifications.
Keith McCann completed an (Hons) Degree in IADT. He is a member of
the art collective Moxie Dublin. Recent exhibitions include 'Without
a Parachute' in the Back Loft and 'Making Do' in The LAB. He lives
and works in Dublin.
