Love independent films? Enjoy contemporary art? Appreciate listening to music that you haven't yet heard
on the radio? Do you like to explore your city, meet your neighbors, and

The Miracle Mile Players, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving
the quality of life within the Miracle Mile District and throughout Los
Angeles, is pleased to announce further details regarding TarFest 2007, a
free public celebration of emerging talents in the fine arts, music and

be held October 4-7, 2007, at the La Brea Tar Pits, Korean Cultural Center,
A+D Museum and other venues throughout the surrounding historic Miracle Mile
District of Los Angeles.
Each year, TarFest attracts an increasing number of artists and attendees,
making the arts more accessible to the citizens of Los Angeles and giving
aspiring artists a forum in which to perform, exhibit and develop their
talents. Tarfest's diverse programming is designed to appeal to all types
of Angelenos and to encourage them to interact with the arts in the heart of
their city.
"TarFest is a unique public event meant to enrich cultural Life in Los
Angeles by connecting artists and audiences like no other," says James
Panozzo, founder and executive director of TarFest. "You can't admire these
sculptures installed in corporate plazas, see these films in multiplex
cinemas, hear these bands at Staples Center or study these paintings at
MOCA-yet. But they are all free and available at TarFest regardless of your
age, race, or level of arts education."
A large-scale festival that keeps growing, TarFest professionally produces
and presents arts programming to the people of Los Angeles while providing a
high level of visibility to emerging artists and performers, enabling them
to make forward strides in their careers.
The schedule of programming for TarFest 2007 includes works by 28
contemporary visual artists, multiple film screenings, and performances by 9
musical acts. The Miracle Mile Players expects more than 5,000 attendees.
