Coinciding with the re-opening of the New Museum and the boundLES events at several galleries and non-profit spaces in the Lower East Side on December 1st, ABC No Rio and Artbus will showcase Coexistence, a selection of videos by international artists, curated by Antonio Arévalo and Raúl Martínez.
Coexistence comprises ten videos by Latin American, European and North American artists examining submission and interdependence in relationships, as well as the conflicts that arise among different individuals and communities. From Kaoru Katayama and Donna Conlon's irony, to Regina Galindo and David Pérez' actions, the program examines human coexistence, the sense of upheaval or contempt for the unknown, as well as the inevitable contamination amongst cultures.
As in previous events, Artbus, a non-profit organization based in Madrid, aims to become a platform for the promotion and dissemination of video art, and a meeting point for dialogue and discussion.
