Works by 85 artists
Experience extraordinary art in a unique group exhibition showcasing eighty-five local and international artists. Invited artists were asked to create individual works inspired by existing boundaries. The exhibit is presented as an installation consisting of separate canvases, each shares the same dimensions and each as unique as the artist who created it. While together they form one, ultimately each canvas is an individual work of art that will be sold separately.
85@85 is an annual group exhibition. The
artists selected to exhibit in this year's exhibition represent a myriad of ethnic and cultural backgrounds and work in disciplines ranging from photography to multimedia installations. miArte Gallery is pleased to present the names of the eighty-five artists who were invited to participate in this year's exhibition.
Also on view until January 26, 2008
U-4RIA: Pushing the Limits
Featuring works by MANO, Aurora Molina, George Rodez and Luis Enrique Torres. Wild, scribbled graffiti-like marks, deliberate drips, dribbles and carefully-sewed stitching energize the many canvases and works on paper presented in this exhibition revealing the artists sensuous joy in manipulating different mediums. The creative exuberance of color and texture is not without order or clarity, viewers’ expectations are challenged as to what an image can and should represent.
