This is what the artist says about his new paintings: "The starting point of the realization or ‘creation’ of these works is sometimes vague even to me. Although the works are at first precisely determined as regards the idea, during the execution everything fails and becomes something that was in no way the original conception. Perhaps I fancy what one should see in them. The once solid structure of the works moves to the realm of the simplest creation of the artistic state by means of the colour stain, the line, the text message. The new works are concerned less and less with the question of how to begin. Movement within the system of scribbles and intentional randomness – from the childlike drawing to CY Twombly – has created an artistic language which is strictly, almost maniacally pure. Everything is allowed. The very process of creation has become more important than the painting".
Goran Juresa has M.A. from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in 2002. Since 1996 he has had solo exhibitions and has participated in a large number of joint exhibitions. In 2003. he enjoyed a residential stay at the Centre Europeen d’Actions Artistiques Contemporaines in Strasbourg, and in 2004. and 2005. in Cité des Arts in Paris. Goran Juresa is the winner of a WUS AUSTRIA grant and several awards. He is currently employed as a teaching assistant at the Department of Graphical Engineering and Design of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad.
