Fifty-five international art galleries exhibit at PINTA, New York's only modern and contemporary Latin American Art Fair, that be held for the second consecutive year. This year, Pinta's unique Museum Acquisition Program will make contributions to a main group of institutions in order to help them expand their collections of Latin American art, and will honor Peruvian artist Fernando Bryce.

Fifty-five international art galleries will exhibit at PINTA, New York's only modern and contemporary Latin American Art Fair, that will be held for the second consecutive year November 13 –16 at both the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street and the B. Altman Building, 135 West 18th St.

The success of last year's' fair has helped establish PINTA as one of the most important venues for Latin American art. This year, PINTA's unique Museum Acquisition Program will make contributions to a main group of institutions in order to help them expand their collections of Latin American art. The invited museums include: Harvard Art Museum, El Museo del Barrio, New York, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), The Tate Modern, London, The Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art, Austin, Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA) and Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI).

PINTA 2008 will honor Peruvian artist Fernando Bryce. Bryce and art historian Miriam Basilio will officially start the PINTA festivities by participating in a conversation about authorship, historical legitimacy and the contradictions of modernity as a universal discourse on November 12 at 6:30 P.M. at the Americas Society (680 Park Avenue.)

The opening night reception by invitation only, will be held on Thursday, November 13 from 6:30 P.M. –10 P.M. at the Metropolitan Pavilion. PINTA will be open Friday, November 14 from 12 P.M. – 8 P.M., Saturday, November 15 from 12 P.M. - 8 P.M. and Sunday, November 16 from 12 P.M. – 7 P.M.
