Around the books 'Thinking in an age of social hypochondria' and 'A Cat in The Throat'

sintesi del comunicato stampa

In his book 'Thinking in an age of social hypochondria'(2007), sociologist Willem Schinkel (Rotterdam) concludes that we talk ourselves and our society into believing we suffer from all manner of ailments. According to Schinkel, these fears and anxieties are expressions of a hypochondriac society that is uncertain about its culture and the influence of immigration. Poet and artist Caroline Bergvall (London) is widely published. Her essays deal with new forms of writing, multilingual poetry, the confusion of language and mixed media writing practices. Bergvall will talk about her essay 'A Cat in The Throat'.
