Showshane and In Door Park
Join us on Flag Day, Friday June 14th at detroit contemporary for an evening
of experimental audio and live music.
))Flag Day audio collage from WCBN's Ed Special
will fill the gallery preceding the show. Known for his controversial but
humorous radio collage work on WCBN-FM in Ann Arbor since the 1980s, Ed S.
Pecial will have you eating apple pie while burning your flag.
))debut live performance from Detroit's In Door Park.
Filling the space between found sounds and lost noises, the duo of Nick
Schillace and Jon Moshier present guitarscapes, drums and found sound.
Limited edition debut cds will be on sale for $8.
))live performance from Detroit's Showshane
Showshane creates music with momentum. A distinct rhythm thumps with
impulse; melodic guitar and keyboard phrases articulate decisive control,
all of which are driven by probing bass undertones. Less your traditional
indie rock collective, this four-piece explores their ambient, as well as
jazzy, inclinations; outfitting imagination over image. Showshane has
released various singles and demos over the years, most recently a
full-length titled "You Can't Eat the Scenery" (DCR- January 2002).
$5.00 cover / doors open @ 9p.m.
